junior isas familyThe new Junior ISA was launched to replace the Child Trust Fund and is a tax free ISA for Children which allows parents to save up a tax free nest egg of money which the child will have access to once they reach 18 years of age.

This makes them an appealing savings/investment platform for parents who are looking to save towards their child’s future and can provide a much needed lump sum of money to help pay towards University fee’s or even as a deposit on their first home.

Junior ISA Features

  • Tax free savings to help build up a nest egg for when your child becomes an adult.
     
  • Grandparents, friends and family can all contribute towards the Junior ISA.
     
  • All funds held within the account are safely locked away and can only be withdrawn by the child when he/she reaches 18.
     
  • Each eligible child can hold both a cash and a junior stocks and shares isa at the same time.
     
  • The government will not be contributing towards Junior ISAs
     
  • You can invest up to £3600 per tax year (if the child holds both a stocks and shares account and a cash junior isa then the combined total allowance is £3600 per tax year.
